Eight Bangladeshis executed in Riyadh

Eight Bangladeshi workers, convicted of taking part in an armed robbery at a warehouse and killing its security guard, were executed in Riyadh on Friday. Their three compatriots were awarded with various jail terms and lashes, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior.
The convicts were executed at the Justice Square located near Al Hakam Palace in the capital city. A huge crowd of people, including Saudis and foreigners, witnessed the execution carried out by four executioners, two from Riyadh and one each from Makkah and Najran. The executed Bangladeshis are Mamoun Abdulmenan, Farouk Jamal, Suman Meah, Mohammed Suman, Shafiq Al Islam, Masoud Shamsulhaq, Abu Hussein Ahmed and Muteer Al Rahman, according to the ministry statement. The men were convicted of robbing a warehouse and killing the security guard, Hussein Saeed Mohammed Abdulkhaleq, an Egyptian national.
