Free medical treatment for Non Kuwaiti children with cancer
A decree issued by the Minister of Health Dr Hilal Al-Sayer outlines a decree stating that all non-Kuwaiti children suffering from cancer will receive free medical treatment. They will be exempted from all fees including cost of X-ray, nuclear medicine and treatment. Minister Al-Sayer issued two decrees earlier to ease patients' suffering: Decree 365/1997 exempts cancer patients of fees of medicine, X-ray, nuclear medicine treatments and provides medicine that was only given to Kuwaiti patients and children of Kuwaiti women married to non Kuwaiti husbands according to Decree 421/2002. Decree 365/1997 includes non-Kuwaiti employees working in the Ministry of Health and all immediate members of their families. The second decree reduces the price of medicine and other pharmaceutical goods including around 5000 types of medicine by 5 percent. Another decree provides non-Kuwaitis with 17 types of medicine that were only provided to Kuwaiti patients. |
