152 expats deported for driving without license
KUWAIT: Ministry of Interior’s Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Major General Abdullah Al-Muhanna announced that 152 expatriates were arrested and immediately deported for driving without a driver’s license. In this regard, the ministry’s Public Relations And Security Media Director Brigadier Adel Al- Hashash stressed that the ministry keeps transmitting awareness messages in both Arabic and English so that non-Arabic speaking expatriates would get the message and realize the danger they pose on others and on themselves by violating traffic rules including driving without a license. Fire in Hawally building A fire recently broke out on the third floor of a Hawally building used as private clinic. Security sources said that firemen from Hawally and Salmiya rushed to the scene where they divided themselves into firefighting, evacuation and ventilation teams. Three people who had been trapped on the floor were rescued and treated for smoke inhalation. Fire in Mansouriya Similarly, a fire recently broke out in a Mansouriya house, said security sources, noting that firemen from Shuhada and Hilali centers rushed to the scene where they controlled the fire and rescued some of the tenants who had been trapped by the flames and smoke. Those rescued were treated on site for smoke inhalation. Fire at Doha port In another incident, a fire broke out in a fodder shipment stored on an area of 100 square meters at Doha port, said security sources. The port firemen responded to the scene and successfully managed to control the fire within 35 minutes without any casualties.
