MoH reports two ‘swine flu’ deaths
The Ministry of Health has announced the death of two people who were allegedly suffering from Swine Flu, reports Al-Qabas daily. One of the victims is a Kuwaiti and the other is believed to be Indian. However, there are contradictory reports concerning the causes of deaths.

However, The Assistant Undersecretary for General Health Affairs Dr Majda Al-Qattan said that the 62-year-old Kuwaiti was suffering from overweight but had the symptoms of Swine Flu. He was referred to the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center following which his condition worsened and he died a few weeks later.

The Head of Physiotherapy at the Adan Hospital Dr. Waleed Al-Baseeri denied this information. He affirmed the Kuwaiti who died at the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center was his brother and the cause of death was chronic lung inflammation. Al-Baseeri told the daily the information circulated by the some circles that the man died as a result of Swine Flu is untrue. Regarding the death of Indian, Al-Qattan said the man died at the Adan Hospital. He died as a result of Swine Flu. Sources pointed out he was suffering from asthma and affirmed the importance of taking Swine Flu vaccination during October and November every year especially people suffering from diabetes and blood high pressure.

The sources reassured that there is no need to panic because this case does not constitute an epidemic. Meanwhile, knowledgeable sources criticized the absence of transparency in dealing with Swine Flu cases wondering why the Ministry delayed in announcing the two deaths although one of them died two weeks ago and the other 10 days ago according to a statement issued by the Ministry.
