GCC communication ministers probe lower phone call tariffs

Ministers ministers of communications of the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states probed here on Tuesday lowering of tariffs of phone calls among their countries.
Speaking to reporters after the 19th session of the ministerial committee on post, and information and communication technology (ICT), Kuwaiti Minister of Communications and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Dr. Mohammad Al-Busairi said the aim of today's meeting was to facilitate communication among the citizens of the GCC countries. "Phone call tariff is the top priority for the GCC countries at present," he affirmed, noting that technicians were working out regulatory measures to improve the service and serve the economic interests of citizens. "The ministerial committee discussed also the GCC nominations for leading posts at international organizations such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)," the minister said. |
