Indian among two killed in Cyclone Phet in Oman |

Oman’s Civil Defence Chief has said two people, including an Indian, were killed when Tropical Cyclone Phet skirted by this Gulf country, causing heavy rains and fears of flash flooding.
General Malik al-Muamri says Phet weakened on Saturday but heavy rains and strong winds knocked down electric poles and kept oil tankers away from Oman’s al-Fahl port. Mr. Al-Muamri said one Omani was killed in a flood while the second fatality was an Indian man who died after being electrocuted by a pole that toppled. |
