Kuwait rail projects under spotlight

Trade Arabia reported that Kuwait's major rail infrastructure projects and the country's foray into new era in public transportation will come under spotlight at the 2 day Kuwait Metro and Rail Conference & Exhibition.
The conference will be held from April 19 to 20 at Radisson Blu Hotel under the patronage of Dr Mohammad Mohsin Al Busairy Kuwait minister of communications. The event offers a complete and comprehensive analysis of the current regulatory framework innovative financing structures for rail projects, practical environment friendly solutions for rail operation and new technologies reaching the market. The conference is timely for Kuwait as the country gets ready to develop its massive rail system which upon completion will reach 550 kilometers and cover the northern and southern parts of the country as well as critical infrastructure such as airports and railway stations. Mr Hudhaib Al Allatti events manager said that Kuwait is on the verge of a new era in public transportation. The country is planning to develop its own rail and metro projects as part of the GCC's wider efforts to improve public transportation networks and its connectivity with neighbors. The Kuwait project is part of the USD 25 billion GCC railway project which begins at Kuwait and runs to Muscat via Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Kuwait's own Metro Rail is a 171 kilometers long inner city transport running across the city of which 60 kilometers of the rail road will be built underground. The 2 day conference will offer new business and investment opportunities for participants and give them a glimpse of the market trends and new technologies besides the update on environmental regulations. |
