Ministry of Social Affairs alows project visa transfer after 3 year
The Labor Committee at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has decided to allow employees working under government contracts to transfer their residency into a permanent work residency, regardless of their qualifications, reports Al-Jarida daily. The committee stipulated that any worker who worked for three continuous years on a government contract will be eligible for the transfer if he holds academic degrees. Non-graduates, however, will be eligible for such transfers after five years of continuous work or after the completion of their contract, said reliable sources.
The decision was taken during a meeting held by the committee on Thursday. It was attended by Undersecretary Mohammed Al-Kandari, Assistant Undersecretary for Labor Sector Mansour Al-Mansour and directors of labor departments of all governorates. Moreover, the committee asked officials to tackle all difficulties visitors face while using the automated system at the ministry and stressed the need to improve the level of services offered to citizens and expatriates, especially while processing various transactions reported Arab Times news paper. |
