Security Tightened Around Airport – Non-Passengers Not Allowed
KUWAIT CITY, July 2: Security has been tightened in the area surrounding Kuwait International Airport as part of the measures being taken by the Ministry of Interior to guarantee the safety of the nation and its people, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources. Sources explained the thorough inspection of vehicles is just one of the precautionary measures and it does not mean that the airport is being targeted by terrorists. Sources said the airport administration has also prohibited non-passengers from entering the premises due to the huge crowd observed recently, affirming that this is only temporary. Meanwhile, the GCC ministers of interior held a closed-door meeting at the Kuwait International Airport on Thursday to discuss the latest developments in the investigation of the bombing of a Shiite mosque in Kuwait City last Friday, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources. Sources confirmed the GCC ministers of interior came upon the invitation of their Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Mohammad Al- Khalid.
