Draft law on expats’ entry, exit discussed

The Advisory Council’s Internal and Foreign Affairs Committee held yesterday a meeting as part of the 43rd ordinary session chaired by its rapporteur Mohamed Abdullah al-Sulaiti. The committee discussed a draft law on regulating the entry and exit of expatriates and their residency. HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani attended the meeting. He explained Qatar Chamber’s viewpoint on the draft law. The committee decided to submit its report to the Advisory Council.


HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued yesterday Emiri decree No 38 of 2015 inviting the Central Municipal Council to meet on 18 Ramadan 1436 AH, corresponding to 5 July 2015. The law is effective starting from the date of issue and is to be published in the official gazette.


HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Qatar Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani arrived in Kuwait  last night to participate in the emergency meeting of the GCC interior ministers. HE the Premier and Interior Minister and his accompanying delegation were greeted upon arrival at Kuwait International Airport by Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohamed al-Khalid al-Sabah, GCC Secretary General Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Zayani, Qatar’s ambassador to Kuwait Hamad bin Ali al-Henzab, members of the Qatari embassy and a number of senior officials of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior.
