Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) 2015, co-organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and Qatar Airways, is being widely celebrated across social media channels, particularly Twitter and Instagram.
The social media competitions have inspired QIFF visitors to post thousands of images and messages about the event that concludes tomorrow.
The competition, titled “Take a Picture of Your Family While They Cook”, is offering participants the chance to win valuable prizes, including a visit for two to Qatar and tickets to attend QA’s Business Class “Dine in the Sky”.
The visit consists of free tickets as well as a free five-star hotel accommodation with breakfast. Participants must post a group picture of their family while they prepare delicious recipes at home. The contest aims to help participants showcase their families’ cooking skills and highlight the spirit of solidarity and teamwork in preparing and cooking food together.
A second competition, titled “A Different Side of Turkish Cooking”, has allowed participants to show their creative talent by taking a photograph of the Turkish corner at QIFF and uploading it to Instagram.
The participant with the best photo will win two tickets to Turkey together with a hotel stay.
Participants in the two competitions must be 18 years of age and over and their social media contributions must include the festival’s hashtag #QIFF2015. Both competitions will run until today and the results will be announced tomorrow.
QTA has also hosted the “Be Part of the QIFF Cookbook” activity on Instagram where participants can share their favourite Qatari recipes or smart cooking tips with the audience by posting in the comments section.
QIFF is a key cultural and social event enriching Qatar’s entertainment activities and offering tourists and families an opportunity to taste various delicious food options.
The event seeks to provide Qatar’s hospitality sector with a chance to promote the best food and beverages services it has.
Top international chefs take part in the festival by celebrating premium-made recipes from fresh ingredients and displaying innovative dishes with the aim of taking visitors on an intercontinental journey.
