Hi all
This is regarding a not so pleasant experience I had at calicut airport when I was going home for vacation. These guys with the red cloth on their head (to tell us that they belong to some trade unions in Kerala) will take our luggage to the car even though we will not ask for their service. And after that they need just 10 dirhams (means 120 rupees) for a service which we not asked for. This is looting/rowdyism and all that evil things which is what is Kerala is now. This must stop immediately. So friends, please support this topic so that we can send some application to the concerned parties once we will have enough strength. Regards Sunil Mangatt Dubai |

This is not only the case of just Porter service but it seems all the services provided at the airports are looting. Recently a friend of mine who was travelling from Kochi Airport had IRS 22000/- with him. At the airport he enquired at one of the exchanges and they told they will give him AED 1000/-. He rejected the offer but unfortunately just 10 mins prior to boarding the aircraft he was taken into custody and the custom seized the whole amount and file a case against smuggling Indian currency. Then went in through a long procedures to come put of this. Ofcourse he managed to take a fight after 2 days. |

The Same Experience i got it also. I didn't ask any assistance. I take my baggage and reach near taxi. at that time two peoples come near me and he take the 30 kg baggage and put it car only. He asked 100 rupees. I fighting with that peoples taxi drivers also supported to that trade union peoples finally give 50 rupees. Without any effort making money only in Kerala. |
