The Ministry of Transport has issued certain traffic road rules and regulation for driving a vehicle in Finland.
During the winter month driving in Finland can be somewhat dangerous. It is a common sight seeing the roads enveloped with ice. Make sure your vehicle is winterized and snow/ winter tyre (none studded or studded either) are a lawful obligation from Dec1 to Mar 3.
At dusk, or during rain or fog, the head lights of your motor vehicles should be used. At all times, the headlight must be utilized external to the buildup region (specified by sign).
Whilst driving during the night time (especially during the dusk) events of reindeer or moose getting strucked with vehicles are common, which could be sometimes be very lethal and causes damage not only to the vehicle but also to the occupants.
Stringent traffic law is enforced by the police and random Breathalyzer tests are introduced on roadsides. The drivers who are found to have .05 or more alchol content are liable for immediate arrest.
