Hong Kong Space Museum

The Hong Kong Space Museum is an astronomy museum in the Tsim Sha Tsui, urban area of the Southern Kowloon in Hongkong.


You can find two wing called the east and west wings. The east wings comprises of the nucleus of the planetarium in the museum. The planetarium is in the shape of egg dome. Underneath the dome are the Hall of Space Science, Stanley Ho Space Theatre, offices and workshops.


In the west wing, you will find the Lecture hall, Astronomy hall, offices and gift shops. You can also find a replicate of the Space Shuttle orbiter’s cockpit and nose segment .


There are 2 thematic exhibition halls the Hall of Astronomy and Hall of space science displays exhibits, which offers the visitor an interactive educational experience.


An excellent part of the museum is it has some exciting awesome simulators. You can experience 1/6th of the globe’s gravity, known as moonwalk simulation. You can also find other simulators, which permits to manage a paraglider or steer a spaceship.


Opening hours

The museum is opened from 1pm to 9 pm on Mon, Wed, Thurs and Fridays.

On Sat, Sundays and on public holidays the museum is opened from 10am to 9pm.

The museum will be closed at 5pm on eve of lunar eclipse and on Christmas.


Admission fees

The admission fee for student is $16, and for adult and teachers it is $32.

Kids below the age group of three years are not allowed inside the museum.
