From its humble beginnings in 1956, when it was started by late Mrs Leela Jashnamal and her group of enterprising Indian ladies, the Indian Ladies Association (ILA) has withstood the test of time to emerge today as one of the leading social and charitable organizations in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The acronym ILA has become a household word amongst the various communities in Bahrain. Whether it was through shows or showcasing the best of India and the world's multi-cultural heritage, ILA's impeccable style and efficiency and number of good causes that it has supported has made this organization a well-respected milestone in Bahrain's cultural and social scene. In all its endeavors, the ILA has been fortunate to receive the patronage of the Ladies of the Royal Family of Bahrain and the authorities of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
