Family life

One of the unique aspects the Kenyan culture is the conventional method in which the natives lead their life. A majority of the Kenyan people live in dispersed settlements. In the conventional society, the ethnic or tribal groups are characterized by the common culture and geographical area. Every group has its individual political and social association.


One of the rigid forces in the traditional society is the way in which the Kinship is linked through marriage and blood relationship. In a conventional society the family comprises of parents, children, uncles grandparents, brothers, aunts, and sisters. They have their individual kids and other relations. It is quite a common feature that women have 2 or more wives. He will have several households and each wife have individual house constructed within the same compound, where his other wives and their families live.


Food

A Kenyan cuisine generally consists of meat sauce or stodge filler along with beans. "Nyama choma", a-barbecued goat meat is the national dish of Kenya. The Kenyan people love to drink beer and there is a flourishing local brewing business. Sukuma wiki, ugali, tsisaka, managu, miroo are some of the other foods consumed in Kenya. The working families eat stew and rice and other foods such as chicken stew, parantha (Chapati).


Dress

The Kenyan adopts a conservative dress code. Most of its people adopt several religious, cultural, traditional dress patterns. The ladies wear ideal blouses and decent dress tops. The business people wear formal business suits with tie.
On casual occasions and in parties, the men wear t-shirts and shorts.
