The association says it is in no way related to AMMA (Mata Amritanandamayi) or the Malayalam Cine Actors in Kerala (AMMA)

The Malaysia Malayalee Association works for the betterment of Malayalam communities. It says it is in good relations with the other Indian communities. The Association says that they are proud to be a Malaysian, an Indian, and a Malayalee in that order.
