The Sydney Opera house

In the Australian city of Sydney is present the magnificient structure, the Sydney Opera house. It is a perfect masterpiece of splendid architecture. The structure was designed by a Dutch architect, Jorn Utzon. The building was opened in the year 1973. The Opera house was declared a UNESCO cultural heritage site on 28 June 2007.

The Opera house is one of the most performing arts centers on the globe and is located in Sydney Harbor at Bennelong point. In contrast to the name, the building has many performing venues. It hosts nearly 1500 performance annually with about 1.2 million people witnessing it.

The building houses has the following performing spots

The Concert Hall: The hall has about 2,679 seats and it is the center for Sydney Symphony. It has the world’s biggest mechanical tracker action organ with more than 1000 pipes called the Opera House organ.

The other venues are the Opera theatre, Drama Theater, The playhouse, The Utzon room and the Forecourt.

The opera house apart from the performance venues also has, restaurants, retail outlets, bars and a recording studio.
