Get an application kit
You need to obtain your application kit, which is available in Canadian citizen and immigration websites, like www.cic.gc.ca, where you can download the application kit.

Prior to filing up your application form, read the instructions carefully. Please note that the fee for your application processing is a non-refundable one. So ensure you become eligible for a Permanent resident prior to your application submission.
Fill the application form completely and enclose all the required documents.
Just pursue the instructions laid out in the guide. Ensure that you have offered all the necessary credentials. Your application will not be processed, if any of the required documents or information is found to be missing. They will be returned and you will be asked to provide the missing particulars.
The following documents should be enclosed along with your application form
Your Permanent Resident Card (if your card has got expired or if there is any inaccurate or outdated particulars on it).
Your valid travel document or passport copy, at the time, when you were given the status of Permanent Resident. It is important to warn you at this juncture that if you send any blurred photocopies, your application will send back to you.
Photos: Just check with the Appendix for photo specifications, provided in the guide for more particulars. Your application will not be accepted, if your photos do not fulfill the required specifications.
Other identity documents if any, given in the document checklist (that is component of the application kit).You need to carefully follow the instructions provided in the document checklist.
Keep in mind that you order and enclose the IMM5455 form, the Supplementary Identification form.
Disburse the fees and obtain the original receipt
The fees for your application processing should be paid only in Canadian funds.
