The permanent residents and the citizens in Canada, who are of 18 years and above 18 years of age can sponsor their close family relatives, who intend to immigrate to Canada.
The family members who are eligible for sponsorship
Spouse, who have completed 16 years and above 16 years of age.
Grandparents, parents
Communal partner of Spouse of 16 years and above 16 years of age.
Dependent kids, as well as children who are adopted.
Kids below 18 years, whom the sponsor plan to adopt.
Sisters, Brothers, nieces, nephews, or grandchildren, who are considered as orphans, and who are below 18 years of age and bachelor or not in a common-law relationship.
Any other relative, if the sponsors do not have the above mentioned family members either in overseas or Canada.
Under the class of family sponsorship, the Common-law partner means, an individual who is having a conjugal relationship with another individual for a time period of minimum one year.
A conjugal partner is an individual who is staying outside Canada, and who have established with another individual a conjugal relationship for a time period of minimum one year and have not cohabited with one another.
