The Education system in Korea comprises of elementary school for duration of six years, junior high school for three years, and high school for three years, and college education for a period of four years.
In Korea, stiff completions prevail among students to pass the entrance test. However the situation is not that much grave, as in Japan, where the entrance exams are held even for kids, to gain admission to kinder gardens. Astonishingly, students in Korea need to take entrance test only once, in their academic career.
Kinder garden
The kids from their 3rd and up to their 7th age, have their initial education in Kindergarden. Most of the kinder garden teaches the kids in Korean and as well as in English. Some of them teach entirely in English.
Elementary school
The kids when they enter their age of 8, are put in elementary school, here they spend up to a period of six year, up to the age of 14. In element school apart from Korea and English, the kids are taught other subjects like mathematics, Korean, social studies, science, fine arts, moral education, P.E., music. and practical arts. Though most of the subjects are taught by the class teacher itself, certain subects are taught by some special people like in foreign languages and in physical education.
Secondary school
The secondly school comprise of a total of six year, which is segregated into a junior school and high school, each comprising of three years of duration. Based on the performance the students enter into general academic or vocational courses. The vocational schools focus on several fields like fishery, agriculture, trades, commerce, engineering, marine merchant, and arts.
Middle school
In Korea, the middle school comprieses of 3 grades, normally a pupil enter the middle school at the age of twelve or thirteen and gets graduated at the age of fifteen or sixteen years. The 3 grades match up approximately to the seven to nine grades in the North American scheme, and eight to ten years in the Wales and England system of education. .
At middle school the students attend 6 lessons daily; in addtion to this, a pupil takes a seventh lesson specializing in an additional subject.
High school
The student attend the high school form their fifteenth year or age and up to their 17th age. Normally at their eighteenth or nineteenth age, a student gets graduated.
Higher education
The Higher education usually comprises of a 4 year college education.
