IIMs (The Indian Institute of Management) are to look for funds from its former student and from the stakeholder to enlarge and build infrastructures of world class standards. A blueprint is being drafted to obtain funds from the alumnus as well from the corporate sector.
The Chairperson of the Raipur IIM , Mr. Hari S Bhatia, who also heads the a fund raising committee of the HRD ministry said that the directors of the various IIMs present in the country will be discussing on how to increase for the ancient as well as the Old IIMs and also keep the Alumni busy.
The committee is formed by the HRD ministry to assist the IIMs in corpus construction, so that they become independent financially and can fund plans for foreign campuses.
The committee, in order to raise the funds has recommended the opening up of a development office and formation of campaign committee in every IIM.
Money also has been generated by the IITs (Indian Institute f Technology) in identical methods.
Foreign Universities such as Harvard and Yale has raised funds for more than US $ 3 billion dollars. In the year 2010, the Tata group gave $50 million as donation .Previously an amount of $ 10 million has been donated by Anand Mahindra.
