North Eastern Council (NEC) to build hostel for students of northeast states in Bangalore

Shillong: NEC (North Eastern Council), the nodal organization for the monetary and communal growth of the area declared that an exclusive hostel would be build for students in the Banglaore, Karnataka’s state capital.


The planned boarding house would house about 1700 student and might arrive in a 39,900 sq.meters region at Bangalore University’s Jnana Bharathi major campus alongside the Mysore road.


As per the contract arrived amid the North Eastern Council and the Bangalore University, Rs.32.14 crores would be authorized for the construction, whereas the varsity would freely offer the land.


The University’s engineering wing would build the hostel.


Uttam K. Sangma, the secretary of NEC said that way back in the year 2008; the committee had debated the notion of including such a boarding house at Bangalore University.


The NEC secretary further added the committee was discovering the potentials of including identical hostels in Pune, Mumbai, as well as in Mysore.


The NEC official said that they are discovering the options of including identical hostels in Pune, Mumbai and Mysore. Sangma said the boarding house in Bangalore include detached blocks for boys & girls and would be equipped with the latest amenities such as solar water heater system, rain water harvesting, an interior stadium and CCTVs.


He said the security issue would be also offered appropriate significance. B.C. Mylarappa, the Registrar of Bangalore University said there are about nine thousand students learning various institutions affiliated to the varsity.


Earkuer, NEC aided in the building up of a five hundred facility of girl’s boarding house in Delhi University and a 501 capability working women’s boarding house in Delhi’s Jasola region.


Presently the hostel for 500 girls students is in progress in Delhi University’s southern campus.
