Nowadays, getting admission into a school in Delhi seems to be not an easy task. A number of schools in the country’s capital have rejected the application of several candidates residing in the suburban areas of Delhi. The schools say that the candidates do not have the birth certificates given by the Delhi government.
People residing in the peripheral areas of Delhi like Ghaziabad and Noida, in case of emergency opt of the finest hospital in the capital. They get the birth certificate from the Government of Uttar Pradesh for their new born infants. This becomes a technical barrier for the parents, when they want their children to get educated in Delhi schools.
A mother who wants her daughter to get admitted in a Delhi school says that she is a Mayur Vihar occupant and she gave birth to her daughter in Noida. She said though her daughter is eligible for admission, some schools are insisting for MCD birth certificates.
This denotes that some Delhi schools are not giving admission for kids having birth certificates obtained from other states. Some parents grumble that some schools make it a compulsory procedure, that parents must show the MCD birth certificates.
A number of guidelines were issued by the High court last year for admission to nursery schools to makes sure the parents’ convenience. But still this matter is not touched.
