Primary and Secondary Education

In the UAE, the universal and mandatory education is provided at the primary and secondary level up to the ninth grade. This happens in four tier processes over a time period of 14 years. The kindergarten is attended by kids in the age group of 4 to 5 year old. The primary school is attended by the children in the age group of 6 to 11 year olds. The kids in the in the age group of 12 to 14 years attend the preparatory phase. The secondary schools are attended by students in the age group of 15 to 17 year olds. In the government schools the teach staff emiratisation is programmed to attain 90 percent by the year 2020, in order to make sure , the UAE’s objectives and civilization are preserved.

The private schools are attended by forty percent of the students. Some of them provide overseas education geared for the expatriate communities, normally protecting the civilization and following the prospectus of the students’ nation of origin.

The Age level for the students is from four to five years old

The Primary level

The duration of the program me is 6 years.

Preparatory

The duration of the program me is 3 years.
The Age level of the students is from: 12 to 15 years old

Secondary

The duration of the program me is 3years
The Age level of eh students is from: 15 to 18 years old
Certificate/Diploma awarded: Secondary School Leaving Certificate

Technical Secondary School

The duration of the program me is 6 years

The age level of the student is from: 12 to 18 years old

Certificate/Diploma awarded: Technical Secondary Diploma

For all UAE citizens the primary education is mandatory. The policy of the Government is to offer the staff/student in the ratio of 1:20 at the kindergarten and primary levels. At the middle and the secondary level, it is in the ratio of 1:15. The prevailing ratios are fine in the proposed range.

Prospectus

The primary education focuses on the numeracy skills and fundamental literacy and comprises of fundamental teaching in language, sciences and mathematics.

The Secondary cycle emphasizes on organizing the students for university vocational or technical teaching or for directly joining the workforce. Higher education is pursued by most of the students in the UAE in universities relatively then the vocational or technical organizations. .
