The Sanctuary is located nearly 109 miles (176kms) to the north of the capital city of Ugnada, Kampala. The asylum is situated in the district of Nakasongola, off the Gulu-Kampala main road in the Kafu river basin.
The Sanctuary is a joint effort undertaken by the Uganda wildlife authority as well as the Uganda Rhino Fund, a non-Government organization dedicated to restore the population of Rhinos in Ugnada. Apart from the Rhinos some of the residents you will come across are antelopes, monkeys, crocodiles, hippopotamus, and lots of bird species.
You will find ample accommodation inside the park. The Amuka lodge is a great place to reside.
